The Dudley Church began in 2005, when a small group of brothers and sisters gathered for worship in a trailer. As the group grew, they rented a small church to accommodate the increasing attendance. However, as God continued to bless them with more members, the need for a larger and more permanent place of worship became evident. It became difficult for visitors to find the group when meeting spaces changed, prompting the members to seek a more stable venue.
Determined to establish a permanent home, the congregation—now about 70 members strong—began raising funds with enthusiasm. With a shared vision and deep commitment, they purchased land with plans to build a church. However, their journey took a difficult turn when internal division arose, causing many to leave. Only six families remained. Despite the challenge, the faithful few clung to God’s promises, drawing strength from The Great Controversy, which states, "The church appears as though it is about to fall, but it does not fall."

By 2014, after enduring hardships, the remaining members, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, saw their prayers answered. With faith and perseverance, they approached the Carolina Conference for a loan, and God provided—Dudley now had a church building of its own.

As time passed, more families and friends joined, strengthening the congregation. Then, in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced churches to close. However, a core group of dedicated families remained steadfast, refusing to let the situation hinder their worship. They adapted, meeting in small groups and following a structured plan, as suggested by Pastor Jonathan Mairena after a pastoral transition. When in-person worship resumed, the church continued meeting in small groups until full services were reinstated.

Following the pandemic, interest in the church grew, and membership continued to increase. On Sabbath, June 29, 2024, the Dudley Company officially organized into church status, marking a significant milestone in its history. Ricardo Palacios and Gary Moyer presided over the well-attended event, which was followed by an all-church lunch in celebration.
From a small gathering in a trailer to a thriving congregation, the story of the Dudley Church is one of perseverance, faith, and unwavering trust in God’s plan. As they continue to grow and serve their community, the journey stands as a testament to the power of God’s provision and the dedication of His people.
