A simple customer interaction changed Jennifer Williams’ life forever. It began when Irena Davis, a customer at Jennifer’s workplace, befriended her and started sharing about Jesus and the Sabbath. Initially, Jennifer dismissed the Sabbath as unimportant, but Irena continued to show love and kindness. Eventually, she invited Jennifer to a Revelation seminar at Hendersonville Seventh-day Adventist Church. That seminar touched Jennifer’s heart, and she began attending services every Sabbath. This newfound faith soon extended to her family, as Jennifer and her daughter Laylah began life-changing Bible studies together.
At the time, Jennifer was enduring an abusive marriage. The Hendersonville church family became her refuge, offering unconditional support and love as she navigated the difficult transition to a new chapter in her life. During this period of healing, Jennifer encountered David at her second job. Although they began dating, their relationship was complicated by his involvement in spiritualism and his initial resistance to Christianity. Undeterred, Jennifer shared with him the peace and truth she had discovered in Christ. Eventually, David agreed to attend a Revelation seminar, which opened his heart. Through Bible studies, David, Jennifer, and Laylah made the decision to dedicate their lives to Jesus and be baptized.
For Laylah, the experience was deeply meaningful. She viewed it as an answered prayer, saying, “God fulfills His promises and continues to uplift His people for His glory.”
A Joyous Milestone
Pastor David Wright first met Jennifer in 2017 during an evangelistic meeting at Hendersonville Church. He remembers her as an enthusiastic and eager learner, passionate about discovering more about Jesus. While preparing Jennifer and David for baptism, Pastor Wright learned about their living arrangements and encouraged them to marry. Although David was immediately open to the idea, Jennifer hesitated, her past experiences leaving her apprehensive about such a commitment. However, with encouragement from her daughter and her own desire to do what was right in God’s eyes, Jennifer said yes. On a Friday, they were married, and that same day, they were baptized together. The following day, Jennifer celebrated her birthday with the joy of witnessing Laylah’s baptism, making the weekend a spiritual milestone for their family.
A New Life in Christ
Jennifer’s life has been transformed. She reflects on the journey with gratitude, saying, “I’m in the light now, and I’m shining bright.” The support of her church family, the deepening of her faith, and the changes in her personal life have brought her to a place of peace and purpose.
“To me, this story just speaks to the power of evangelism and how the Lord works in mysterious ways to bring all of these pieces together in ways we can never orchestrate,” said Pastor Wright.
Jennifer’s story is a testament to the transformative power of God’s love, the impact of intentional evangelism, and the healing that comes from walking in the light of Christ. From a workplace conversation to a family united in faith, her journey shows how even the smallest seeds of outreach can bear eternal fruit.
